Prince Goddaughter Arrested - British police were forced to arrest a member of the royal family at the Heathrow airport following an altercation on Sunday.
Reports indicate that 42 years old Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was arrested after being refused entry into the first-class-lounge on her trip to Switzerland for her 43rd birthday.
Tara, who is Prince Charles's Goddaughter, reportedly got upset and threw a tantrum. She is said to have started hurling insults at British Airways Staff, who were simply doing their jobs.
Local reports indicate that the video of her arrest outside the terminal has since gone viral.
Tara, who had battled alcohol and drug addiction in the past, is shown in the video very upset - she pulled some of her hair extensions out and threw them with anger on the floor.
Shortly afterwards she broke down crying. Three of the police officers, who responded to the distress call, arrested her without much incident.
"She had completely lost all control and she was screaming at officers. They had no choice but to arrest for her own and everyone else's safety," one witness told The Sun.
"Police at Heathrow Terminal 5 were made aware of a disturbance in the forecourt of the building at approximately 3:30p.m. on Saturday, December 20," a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
Tara was enroute to an upscale ski resort in Switzerland, where she planned to celebrate her birthday tomorrow.
The embarrassing incident occurred after she tried to get into the first-class-lounge while she had bought a business class ticket. The staff refused her access and she responded angrily.
"She went ballistic, she screamed " I can't fucking believe you are treating me like this,"" an onlooker told The Sun.
Although it is not clear why Tara, the Prince's Goddaughter arrested, would mistake a business class ticket for a first-class one. However, she insists that she wasn't drunk, blaming her erratic behavior on a panic attack.
"I was not drunk, there was no disorderly, I was cautioned and I saw a doctor, they were nice to me," Tara said.
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was later released from custody and flew to Switzerland later that night.
Earlier this year, during an interview with Jeremy Kyle, the Prince Goddaughter admitted to being drug free for years after battling with a £400 a day cocaine habit.
Tara said she had been suffering from anxiety problems that have caused her to only leave the house for three times this year.
"I was diagnosed as having a high degree of autism," she said in an interview. "It was a shock but could explain why I've lived my life at such a frantic level."
