Kourtney Kardashian revealed her baby's name on Instagram, US Weekly reported.
Kourtney Kardashian gave birth to a bouncing baby on Dec. 14, 2014. The reality star finally revealed her newborn's name.
Kardahsian posted a photo of her son's hand on Instragram and wrote: "Madly in love with my little Reign Aston Disick."
The fashion mogul and her husband, Scott Disick reportedly wanted a powerful name. The couple allegedly wants people to know that their family is royalty in America, according to Hollywood Life.
"Kourtney wanted a completely unique name, she wanted him to represent a ruler and Sovereign Disick doesn't have the same ring to it as Reign Disick. Plus Kourtney really believes all the talk when people say that the Kardashians are American royalty, so she really took that to heart and wanted her son to continue that legacy," the source said.
The choosing of names became a battle for the couple. It was reportedly not an easy subject for the family.
"They both fought over the name, and Scott really wanted to stick to honoring their fathers, but Kourtney got more adamant that it be unique," the source added.
It is not a surprise that Kardashian wants a unique name. The reality star is a top trend setter for baby names. When she gave birth to her first son, Mason in 2009, the name became the 34th most popular baby name. In 2013, Mason hit the 4th spot in the trending list, Huffington Post reported.
Kardashian gave birth to her only daughter, Penelope in 2012. After a year, the name bagged the 56th spot in the list of popular baby names in America.
Reign has also a resemblance to his father's nickname "Lord Disick." The nickname has been used by Disick often especially in social media posts. Kardashian's husband even created a flag and a logo for the said name and displayed it in their Hamptons house.
Meanwhile, Kardashian's journey to giving birth will most probably be featured in the tenth season of "Keeping Up With The Kardashian" in 2015.
