Whitney Houston Cause Of Death: Accidental, Police Close Investigation

Whitney Houston's cause of death has been officially ruled an accident with no signs of foul play and Beverly Hills Police have now closed its investigation.

Houston died at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Feb. 11. The 48-year-old singer's body was found in a bathtub in her hotel suite.

Officials at the Los Angeles County Coroner's office have said Houston accidentally drowned in the bathtub with cocaine use and heart disease as factors contributing to her death. She was found face down extremely hot water. A spoon with a white substance was also sound in the singer's room, the autopsy report noted.

"Based on the findings of our investigation and our review of the coroner's report, we have determined that this is not a criminal matter," the Beverly Hills police department said in a statement to the media. "The BHPD investigation has been officially closed."

Houston is a six-time Grammy winner.

Houston's autopsy report showed that her nose was somewhat damaged because of cocaine use; she had breast implants and mild emphysema.

Houston had a daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, from her marriage with singer Bobby Brown.
