Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz are finally married! In mid-December, it was reported that 35-year-old Madden and Diaz have gotten engaged after the latter was seen flaunting a new sparkler on her hand. However, the reports were never confirmed by the couple.
Early Monday, several entertainment news sites reported that a Benji Madden-Cameron Diaz wedding was in the works. As reported by Us Weekly and TMZ, the couple allegedly had a rehearsal dinner on Sunday night, Jan. 4 in Beverly Hills.
And by Monday, Hollywood Life reported rental companies including The Velvet Garden florists were unloading flowers while Classic Party Rentals and Beverage Warehouse were seen arriving with other wedding-related items at the actress' mansion.
Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz seemed to have started 2015 with a bang as they decided to get married on Jan. 5 after almost eight months of dating. According to USA Today, the couple was introduced by Benji's sister-in-law, Nicole Richie.
Meanwhile, the wedding news was confirmed by the couple's representatives to People.
"[Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz] were married [Monday] evening in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles," their reps said.
"We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends," the couple told People.
The wedding was attended by over 90 guests including Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie, The Telegraph UK reported. While Drew Barrymore and Cameron's sister Chimene were the bridesmaids and Richie's son Sparrow, the ring bearer.
In a 2010 interview with Parade, Cameron Diaz, who is considered as Hollywood's most eligible bachelorette, shared her thoughts about marriage and hinted on what her wedding would be like.
"I am a romantic. I love romance. I'm not afraid of commitment," the 42-year-old actress said, as reported by E! News. "I commit to everything I'm doing and I am hopelessly loyal. But I hate predicting the future, I really do, because you just don't know. I can't even make up my mind what I'm going to do this weekend."
"The mystique and the romance of a big wedding are lost on me," the "Annie" star added. "I don't think that I could ever do something that extravagant. I am not much of a planner. I would probably make the phone call 20 minutes before the bus leaves for the chapel and ask if anyone is available to come. That's probably how my wedding is going to end up."
It appeared that what Cameron Diaz shared to Parade happened on her wedding with Benji Madden on Jan. 5, Monday where her house was set by candles, dim-lighting and mostly white flowers, courtesy of the handiworks of renowned celebrity wedding planners Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove.
Since Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz are now happily married, will baby news be the next announcement of the couple?
