Gene And Pat Warrington: High Schools Sweethearts Die Eight Hours Apart After 69 Years Of Marriage

Gene And Pat Warrington - An Ohio couple who met in junior high school and were married for 69 years died just eight hours apart.

Reports indicate that 88-year-old Gene Warrington and his wife 86-year-old Pat who literally did everything together died on Dec.27 in Findlay.

According to their son, Phil Warrington, the couple, who were both sick, were in hospice care. Even through their falling health, Gene was allowed to visit Pat's room. They reportedly held hands a day before their fairy tale passing.

"We were able to get them together for about 45 minutes and he held her hand," Phil said.

Phil says Gene told him that life would not be fun without her after observing Pat in critical condition and knowing that she may not make it.

Reports from the Daily Mail UK indicate that when Gene recognized Pat's death was near he went back to his own room and pulled all his intravenous tubes.

"He said it wouldn't be fun without her," Phil added.

According to local reports, Gene and Pat Warrington were practically inseparable - they secretly married in their teens before Gene left for World War II. He was 18, while she was 16 years old.

Their three children, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren were not surprised at the end of their love story, which they are all well versed with.

"You could have almost predicted it," he said. "They did everything in their life together. They were never apart," Phil said."They have been feeding on each other all along."

The news of Gene and Pat Warrington has since gone viral on the Internet. Many have hailed the couples' life and their passing a beautiful display and lesson of true love.
