Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden is both non-Jewish but their reason for choosing a Jewish wedding - is still a mystery. And since it was a Jewish wedding for a non-Jew couple, some screw-ups occurred during the ceremony.
Some of the wedding details of the Cameron Diaz-Benji Madden have been finally revealed. The couple got married Monday after a whirlwind romance. But the almost perfect wedding seemed to be not perfect at all after some glitches. The Daily Mail reported that before the bridal entrance, the lights started to flicker and eventually went out for 10 seconds.
"S--t, f--k, this is f--ked up. You've got to be f---ing kidding me!" Diaz cursed.
Diaz, who was wearing a sparkly low-cut back gown, made her grand bridal entrance with Nat King Cole's "Stardust" serenading in the background five minutes after the flickering light incident. But the glitches never stopped there.
During the Cameron Diaz-Benji Madden Jewish wedding, another hitch transpired involving Joel Madden and Nicole Richie's 5-year-old son, Sparrow, who was the couple's ring bearer. Sparrow dropped the ring causing it to roll around, and making the crowd chuckle. But when the groom and the best man, Madden twins' Benji and Joel, got on their knees and hands to look for the ring, the guests burst into laughter.
Shortly before the cutting of the cake, Cameron was heard pleading with Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin and another pal to help her change to her short-sleeved reception gown.
After the vows, Us Weekly reported that Madden requested some personal time with Diaz. Asking to be undisturbed, the couple then entered a private room for about 30 minutes. The practice is known as "Yichud," a traditional Jewish wedding ritual.
Celebrity wedding planners Stefanie Cove and Yifat Oren planned the Jewish ceremony of the Benji Madden-Cameron Diaz wedding. A total of 127 guests attended the ceremony at Diaz's Beverly Hills mansion. Actresses Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow were among the famous celebrity guests.
Meanwhile, Drew Barrymore, Benji's sister-in-law Nicole Richie and Cameron's older sister Chimene Cain along with her assistant Jesse Lutz and makeup artist Lona Vigi were the bridemaids. On the other hand, Benji's brothers Joel and Josh were the groomsmen.
Before tying the knot, Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz dated for nine months. And prior to the ceremony, The Jewish Week reported the couple prepared for the wedding in separate rooms, which is a Jewish wedding custom.
