White House Malia Photo - Officials at the White House are reportedly investigating how a photo of President Barack Obama's daughter Malia ended up on the Instagram page of a Brooklyn-based rap group.
Earlier in the week, Pro Era, a group founded by rapper Joey Bada$$, posted the picture of Malia Obama wearing a white T-Shirt branded with the Pro Era logo. The post was accompanied with the words "Malia Obama rocking that classic Pro Era tee!!" The post then urges customers to visit the group's site to purchase a similar shirt.
Since the Malia photo was uploaded, it has gone viral and sparked some controversy. Commentators have noted that it seems inappropriate for the president's 16-year-old daughter to be promoting a rap group - albeit unintentionally.
There have been several questions about how the picture may have been leaked to the public = or whether it is even real. A representative of Pro Era reportedly told Gawker that the image was gotten from a mutual friend. Still many are wondering if the image was taken in the White House and how it was passed on. There are some speculations that Malia may have a secret Instagram page.
First Lady Michelle Obama had said in an interview sometime ago that she was monitoring her daughter's social media usage. Many commentators are hinting that the college-bound teenager may have violated some of the rules her parents instructed her to follow by releasing this picture. But it is unclear if this is indeed true.
Whatever the case, President Obama and his wife will rue the negative publicity that this brings their family. Thus far, there has been no official comment from the White House about the Malia photo. But it is almost certain that the president will want to stay on top of things.
This is not the first time that Malia is stealing the headlines for doing something unconventional. In Aug last year, she was spotted at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago along with her secret service detail.
