Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin has gotten a bit loose during the Lakers' All-Access event in Staples Center to the point of revealing his current status. The Asian-American star revealed to everybody that he's still pretty much available as he hasn't dated anyone as of late.
Lin, who is averaging 10.7 points and 4.7 assists with the purple-and-gold this season, remains one of the most popular players in the NBA, especially in the Asian market. Just ask the more than 148,000 fans voted for him to be an starter in the Western Conference All-Star backcourt.
Since becoming a household name thanks to his exploit in New York three years ago, the 26-year old Harvard alum has amassed incredible fame and fortune by just playing the game. Not to mention several endorsement deals, Lin is actually earning roughly $15M this season in the final year of the three-year, $25M deal he signed with the Houston Rockets in 2012.
Sadly, the level of success Lin garnered on the basketball court doesn't play out the same way as his romantic life.
Travelers Today provided an inside access into the event, including Lin's revelation of his current status:
"When asked if he also possesses the same swaggy traits (the car and the chick) that turned Lakers teammate into an instant sporting reality star (sort of), Lin had nothing to muster but this "I don't have a girlfriend who can buy me a car for Christmas.
The 26-year old Lin went on to say that he doesn't have a girlfriend, and currently not dating any woman perhaps besides his ever-supporting mother, who is often the target of his pranks.
Having no girlfriend is somewhat odd for Lin, who amassed fame and fortune after becoming a global sensation during his electrifying stint with the New York Knicks. He's also pocketing almost $15M this season in the final year of his three-year, $25M deal he signed with the Houston Rockets, which is more than enough for pretty gals out there.
It's surprising to see someone famous and rich as Lin couldn't get some pretty gal for a date, although perhaps Lin is just saving the best for last.
