Drena De Niro - The 41-year-old adopted daughter of renowned actor Robert De Niro will definitely not feel too grown to play the 'good child' after her dad paid about $2.8 million for a spectacular West Village penthouse for her this past month.
Drena De Niro had reportedly been staying in an apartment in Lower Manhattan, which cost her around $7000 to rent monthly. It is unclear why the actress, who worked behind the scenes on the controversial Welcome To New York, is moving out of her apartment. But the change in her housing status would be somewhat drastic.
The spacious $2.8 million penthouse on 32 Morton Street that Drena De Niro will be moving into has a priceless view of Seventh Avenue South. The apartment, which has just two bedrooms, also comes with 13-foot beamed ceiling, a wood burning fireplace, blonde hardwood floor, as well as a small kitchen. Drena De Niro, who shuttles between the US and Italy, is expected to move into the property with her son.
Drena was adopted by Robert De Niro after he married her mother actress Diahnne Abbott in 1976.
The De Niros seem to be involved in a lot of real estate business lately. Last year, De Niro settled a 7-year-long court case with City of Gardiner, Montana, over the alleged overvaluaion of his $6 million propertly located there.
Reports indicate that Robert De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower have been staying at a plush Central Park West apartment, which costs about $125,000 to rent a month.
The 71-year-old, who appeared in classics like The Godfather and Goodfellas, was forced to relocate after his apartment caught fire in 2012. According to the NY Post, the fire was caused by a buildup of lint in a laundry dryer. It is unclear when the renovation works in the apartment will be complete. But Robert De Niro, who is estimated to have about $185 to $200 million cooling off in the bank, doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get back home.
