Singer Vanessa Carlton And Husband John McCauley Are Proud Parents To A Baby Girl [PHOTO]

Vanessa Carlton is now a mom after welcoming her first child with husband John McCauley. The couple announced the arrival of their baby on Tuesday, Jan. 13, through photo-sharing site, Instagram. In June, the 34-year-old singer-songwriter announced her pregnancy.

Vanessa Carlton's new baby was actually the result of the singer's second pregnancy. During a live performance in Bay Shore, New York in October 2013, Esquire reported that the singer was expecting her first child with then fiancé, John McCauley. Unfortunately, Carlton announced that she had experienced an ectopic pregnancy just a month later.

"[I was] diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, or in my case it was a fallopian pregnancy (the embryo settled in my tube, which is the width of a straw.)," she shared on Facebook in November 2013. "This is not considered a viable pregnancy, because the fetus cannot develop and it is a high risk situation for the mother because of the potential for tubal rupture and internal bleeding."

Though Vanessa Carlton's doctors detected the condition early, she later experienced complications and suffered from internal bleeding. Thus, undergoing surgery to remove her right fallopian tube. Meanwhile, the singer-songwriter again announced she was expecting and the delay of her fifth studio album, "Liberman" in June.

"I can now reveal the reason as to why 'Liberman' will not be released until next summer," the recording artist wrote on her Facebook page along with a photo of her tiny baby bump. "No, those aren't a bunch of croissants. We're expecting a baby. It's healthy and moving around like a champ."

"I'm bummed to delay the album because it's so special to me and the perfect combination of England and Tennessee," Carlton added. "When I put the record on it feels like medicine. I hope it does the same for you...in due time! Thanks for sticking with me. John, Victor [Carlton's dog], and I are over the moon."

Last December, Us Weekly revealed Vanessa Carlton married John McCauley in a wedding ceremony officiated by Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks.

Meanwhile, the label of his alternative rock band Deer Tick also congratulated the couple social media.

"There's a new mama and papa on the block! Huge congrats to John McCauley and Vanessa Carlton on their baby girl!!! Welcome to the family!" the band posted on Twitter.

While Vanessa Carlton's husband John McCauley posted a photo of himself holding their adorable newborn in the delivery. It was posted through image-sharing site, Instagram.

"Sid the Kid, whoa!!!" McCauley wrote.
