Fans are looking forward for Apple to release an iPod Touch 6th generation, according to Master Herald.
The company released the iPod Touch 5th generation way back in 2012 and since then fans have been waiting for a follow-up. The Apple device especially catered to the music and entertainment lovers.
Although Apple phased out iPod Classic and iPod Shuffle, fans are still positive about the release of an iPod Touch soon. There are speculations that the device comes in two models, which are 4.7-inches and 5.5- inches. The iPod Touch will reportedly have similar features with the iPhone 6, Christian Today reported.
The iPod Touch will reportedly include Apple Pay as one of its features. It will reportedly run with the latest iOs 8 or even an iOs 9 operating system.
The device will reportedly come in different colors, which includes yellow, pink, red, blue, space grey and silver. There may be additional color variants such as the basic white or the flashy gold, according to Cross Map.
Just like the previous iPods, the 6th generation will reportedly have a 16 GB model for $250 and a 64 GB model for $300. There are rumors that Apple will add a 128 GB option but it will eventually cost more expensive.
Reports say that the release of the iPod Touch has been delayed since Apple wants it to be the "perfect music device" that will surpass the quality of its predecessors. Although it has been almost three years since the launch of the last iPod Touch, Apple cannot bring something new to the market without fresh features.
One downside that tech analysts predicted for the release of an iPod Touch 6th generation is it will affect the sales of iPhone 6. Naturally, the device is cheaper than a smartphone and the user can have the perks of an iPhone except SMS and phone calls. However, Apple can probably find a way to release the iPod without competing with its other creations.
The anticipation of the Apple fans continue to rise as rumors say that the iPod Touch 6th generation will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on March 2 to 5.
