Manny Pacquiao gave Floyd Mayweather an ultimatum to fight with him before the month ends or he will move on, according to New York Daily News.
Promoter Bob Arum said that Pacquiao needs to move forward if Mayweather will not agree with the fight anytime soon. Arum said the discussions cannot go on forever and they need to have fight this spring, therefore, there is a deadline.
Arum further revealed that both sides have agreed about the terms of the fight but the most important thing is missing since Mayweather has not signed the contract. Due to that, Pacquiao and Arum decided to give Mayweather a much needed deadline.
On the other hand, Mayweather said he is communicating with Top Rank but it is "extremely difficult." The athlete said he does not want to blame Pacquiao for the delay since Arum is the boss, according to Inquisitr.
Mayweather's claims were backed up by Pacquiao's former coach Alex Ariza. The coach said that Arum is the "roadblock" in making the fight a reality. Ariza added that Arum has lied to the boxing fans from the start since he really won't make the match happen.
The coach sympathized for the fans since Arum earned millions from boxing enthusiasts but he still deceived them with false stories about a Pacquiao versus Mayweather fight.
In response, Arum said that Ariza is out to blame everyone especially him since he got fired. He added that he is optimistic about the long-awaited fight and the coach does not have a say in any deal related to it. The contracts are reportedly out to be signed by the end of the week.
The fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather has been highly anticipated by boxing fans all over the world. Pacquiao said he has been waiting for the last four years for Mayweather to fight him, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Pacquiao won 10 world titles in eight various weight categories with a record of 57 wins, 5 losses and 2 draws while Mayweather has 47 wins and 0 losses.
The Pacquiao versus Mayweather match is reportedly scheduled on May 2 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
