Cindra Ladd is the latest personality that claimed she was sexually assaulted by 77-year-old comedian Bill Cosby. She detailed the incident that transpired in 1969 in her essay entitled, "Trust Me."
Cindra Ladd is a philanthropist, former entertainment executive and the wife of award-winning Hollywood producer Alan Ladd Jr. She is also the latest woman to come out and claimed that Bill Cosby drugged and raped her. The Daily Mail revealed Ladd was allegedly assaulted when she was only 21-year-old and Cosby was 32 and married to his wife, Camille.
In a written discourse published by The Huffington Post on Monday, Cindra Ladd detailed her ordeal. People reported the incident happened while she was living in New York in 1969, which was also the same year that Joan Tarshis claimed she was assaulted.
"I met Bill Cosby while working in New York for the late film producer Ray Stark," she wrote. "I was a 21-year-old single woman in the world's most exciting city. He was a 32-year-old internationally known comedian and television star, one of the most likable and popular entertainers in the business. He asked for my number and I gave it to him."
Cindra Ladd claimed that her relationship to Bill Cosby was just amicable since the latter was already married to his current wife, Camille. However, the encounter changed when the acclaimed comedian gave her an odd pill that would cure her headache.
"I asked a couple of times what it was. Each time he reassured me, asking, 'Don't you trust me?' Of course I did. This was Bill Cosby," Ladd added. She then said that she spent the night in a "blur." And when she woke up the following morning, Ladd was naked and in bed and Cosby was there clad in a white robe, The Guardian reported.
"It was obvious to me that he had had sex with me," she said. "I was horrified, embarrassed and ashamed. There was a mirror above the bed, which shocked me further."
Ladd also detailed why she did not go to the police and reported the incident.
"It was a different time and 'date rape' was a concept that didn't exist," Ladd wrote. "I just kept asking myself over and over in disbelief why this had happened to me. Other than my roommate, I did not discuss that night with anyone for 36 years."
Cindra Ladd is not the first woman who came out claiming Bill Cosby had sexually assaulted her. Similar allegations from Janice Dickinson and Beverly Johnson also made headlines. Meanwhile, Cosby's lawyer Martin Singer is currently unavailable for comments but has previously denied such reports.
