NBC has finally released a "Hannibal Season" 3 trailer. However, it did not ease the excitement that each and every fan of the show felt as they wait for its television comeback. Though the show has been pushed for release in the summer as KPopStarz revealed, avid fans are still craving for what might be in store for the show.
Based on the latest update for "Hannibal" Season 3, a set of new characters will be joining the cast of the show. TVLine shared "True Blood" actress Rutina Wesley is set to play Francis Dolarhyde's love interest Reba McClane. While "Hobbit" star Richard Armitage is set to play the character of serial killer Francis Dolarhyde or the infamous tooth fairy, Screenrant informed.
Also joining the cast, Ecumenical News revealed Tao Okamoto, who will play Lady Murasaki and Nina Arianda, who will play Will Graham's (Hugh Dancy) future wife in the series and will appear on its episode 8.
As for the plot, reports said there will be a time jump between its season 2 and 3. And as Indiewire revealed, "Hannibal" Season 3 will likely be based on the storyline of "Red Dragon." Creator Bryan Fuller also teased about Clarice Starling's possible appearance, which surely be a treat for all "Hannibal" fans as she plays a vital role in Dr. Hannibal Lecter's tale.
With the released of the "Hannibal" Season 3 trailer, Variety reported it features Will Graham pursuing Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) as he fled to Italy with Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson). While Dr. Frederick Chilton (Raúl Esparza) and Mason Verger (Joe Anderson) also reprise their roles in the next season.
However, the sneak peek does not tell fans what happens to Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) and Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas). Are they still alive? Well, Fuller just gave a not so clear statement.
"One of the wonders of this season is: Will Alana survive and will Jack Crawford survive? Will Abigail Hobbs survive? Those are things that are going to be revealed very slowly at the beginning of Season 3," Creator Bryan Fuller said as Screenrant reported.
Oh well, it seems that we have to wait for the season 3 premiere.
As avid fans waited eagerly for the announcement of the series' renewal in 2014, many breathed a sigh of relief after "Bones" Season 3 was confirmed and would premiere this year. Unfortunately, as NBC recently announced it would premier in the summer, fans will still again wait between the two seasons more than a year.
