Ricardo Medina Jr. ARRESTED? Former ‘Power Ranger’ Actor Allegedly Stabs And Kills Roommate After Lashing Out With A Sword

Ricardo Medina Jr. was arrested on Jan. 31 after he has been charged with murder for the death of Joshua Sutter. The 37-year-old former "Power Ranger" actor was detained for murder at Palmdale, California Sheriff's Station. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail bond.

Best known for the role of Red Ranger on the television and movie editions of popular TV series, "Power Rangers," Ricardo Medina Jr. is currently facing a murder charge for allegedly stabbing and killing his roommate with a sword. According to The Daily Mail, Medina stabbed his roommate, Joshua Sutter, on Saturday afternoon.

At around 4 p.m. Saturday (local time), Ricardo Medina Jr. and Joshua Sutter had a heated disagreement that escalated to a fight. Fox News revealed Medina, together with his girlfriend, went to his room and locked the door. However, Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office said Sutter forced to open the bedroom door.

By that time, Medina apparently picked up a sword, which he kept next to the bedroom door and delivered a deadly blow by stabbing Sutter in the abdomen once, TMZ reported. Fifteen minutes after the incident took place, Medina called 911 and waited for the responders to arrive.

Ricardo Medina Jr. was then taken into custody by the LA County Sheriff's Department with a $1 million bail set. While Sutter was taken to a nearby hospital but eventually, he was pronounced dead.

Ricardo Medina Jr. debuted in the entertainment industry with his role as Red Ranger Cole Evans in 2002's "Power Rangers Wild Force: Identity Crisis," E! News shared. And in 2012, he was cast as Deker in "Power Rangers Samurai." He also made several guest appearances in "ER" and "CSI: Miami."

Meanwhile, Medina's agent, Gar Lester found the allegations against the former actor quite hard to believe.

"He's been my friend and client for 12 years and he's a great guy," Lester said. "He's great to his dog, he's great to his people. He's really a super person."

Ricardo Medina Jr. is currently facing murder charges for a stabbing incident in his home located on the 38000 block of San Francisquito Canyon road in Palmdale. He will be due in court on Tuesday in Lancaster, California.
