The Super Bowl 2015 has finally kicked off on Sunday, Feb. 1. However, it's not the game that stole widespread attention. It was the commercials and movie trailers that grabbed the viewers' interests.
Super Bowl 2015 has always been the time of the year where every moment is being hyped up - from the games, the players, the performances, commercials, movie trailers and a whole lot more. It has always been between the best and the worst, the scored and the bored, the interesting and the weird or even the awkward or the bizarre.
But what got the attention of so many Super Bowl 2015 enthusiasts? Well, it appears the game highlights were ditched while commercials and movie trailers got all the buzz this year.
For the ads, ABC News said there are 15 first-time brands advertising this year, which is the most since 2000. And its success is often measured whether the ads are being talked about or not, instead of the usual "hate it" or "love it" ratings. (For a list of videos of the Super Bowl ads, click here.)
Super Bowl 2015 commercials such as Dove's "Real Strength" ad, Budweiser's "Lost Dog," Always' "Like A Girl," Nationwide's "Make Safe Happen," McDonald's "Pay With Lovin'," Toyota's "My Bold Dad," Nissan's "With Dad," and Coca-Cola's "Make It Happy" were among the best ads that made the Super Bowl 2015 viewing more heartfelt and sobering.
The usual commercials during the Super Bowl are always filled with either sexy themes or slapstick humor. However this year, The Washington Times cited that many of the ads were more emotionally poignant rather than making viewers explode in laughter. The ads were not devoid of famous celebs or comedy but advertisers opted to celebrate fatherhood, happiness and proclamations of love among other remarkable feelings and moments.
Meanwhile, trailers from "Fifty Shades of Grey," "Ted 2," "Terminator: Genysis," "Pitch Perfect 2," "Jurassic World," "Fast and Furious: Furious 7," and "Tomorrowland" were among the movies that got Super Bowl 2015 spot.
While New England Patriots' defeated Seattle Seahawks with a score of 28-24 marking the Patriots' Super Bowl XLIX victory on Sunday, the highlights of the games seemed to have been overshadowed by the buzz created by the Super Bowl 2015 ads and movie trailers.
