NBA Trade Watch: Cavs Eye Mo Williams; Lance Stephenson to Clippers Should Happen

NBA trade period ticks down to its final two weeks with still plenty of questions waiting to be answered. After a gauntlet of trades hammered by several contenders the past few weeks, NBA insiders are anticipating another wave of deals until the 11^th of hour of February 19^th trade deadline.

Cavaliers Eyes Reunion with Mo Williams: According to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio, the Cleveland Cavaliers are among teams reportedly interested in trading for former playmaker Mo Williams, who have been doing a superb job as a backup point guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

"Timberwolves point guard Mo Williams is another serious candidate to be dealt sometime this month. The Cavs, Clippers, Pistons, Kings and Heat are all said to be interested."

Averaging 12.6 points and 6.4 assists in 28 minutes this season, Williams could provide the Cavaliers added depth at the point guard spot behind Kyrie Irving. Should the trade push through, he will be reunited with LeBron James and Anderson Varejao - his former teammates during his previous stint with the Cavs.

Clippers Should Make Run for Lance Stephenson: Former New York Times and current Bleacher report analyst Howard Beck thinks the Los Angeles Clippers should pull off a deal for Lance Stephenson, who has fallen out of the Hornets starting lineup since his nightmarish start in the season.

Stephenson, who is averaging 9.3 points, 5.0 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game, has been thrown on and off the trading block this season, but many NBA insiders still believe the Hornets would be happy moving him with something valuable in return by deadline.

With all the firepower the Clippers possess, the Western Conference juggernaut lacks a versatile perimeter defender with the ability to lock down the best wing player in the West. Beck opined Stephenson is very much capable of providing defensive toughness from the perimeter while still contributing solid stats on the offensive end as the third or fourth option of the team.
