ISIS unveiled execution videos last week and Jordanian King Abdullah II launched attacks as revenge, Daily Mail reported.
A total of 56 airstrikes was released by Jordan after ISIS published a video of Jordanian pilot Moaz Al Kasasbeh being burned alive. The attack from Jordan is just the start of a planned retaliation to the terrorist group.
Jordanian Major General Mansour al-Jabour announced that the attack dubbed as "Operation Martyr Moaz" has achieved its goal but there is a long way to go. The airstrikes targeted the terrorist group's weapon warehouses, training facilities and military barracks, which are mainly located in Raqqa, Syria.
The attack reportedly "degraded" almost 20 percent of the resources of ISIS. A total of 7,000 rebels died due to the airstrikes, Reuters reported.
The major general added that they are determined to "wipe ISIS out of the face of the earth." King Abdullah II revealed that they are declaring war to guard his citizens' "faith, values and human principles." The burning of Moaz was internationally condemned and was deemed as the "most sickening" act of ISIS.
Moaz crashed in Raqqa in December and held captive by ISIS ever since. In a new video from ISIS, giant screens were placed in town as a crowd of people cheered during the pilot's execution. The four-minute video is entitled "Muslims' Joy at Burning of Jordanian Pilot."
The original murder video of Moaz lasted for 22 minutes and conducted in a documentary style. It was called "Healing the Believers Chests" and showed the pilot wearing an orange jumpsuit inside a cage. Terrorists started to light a trail of gas leading to the cage of Moaz.
The pilot was reportedly killed a month ago although ISIS demanded a prisoner exchange from Jordan. The move indicated that ISIS never intended to release Moaz even if Jordan exchanged Iraqi militant Sajida al-Rishawi. Rishawi is now sentenced to death by hanging due to her failed attempt of suicide bombing in Jordan, according to BBC.
As of recent, King Abdullah II discussed with Prince Charles of Wales the upcoming plans to fight terrorism. The British leader has pledged his country's support to the war against ISIS.
