Irving Bierman - A longtime fan of the New York Knicks was in for the surprise of his life after he sent the team's CEO James Dolan an email to express his displeasure about perceived management problems in the Knicks and got a reply in less than an hour.
Irving Bierman, a 73-year-old retiree, who lives in South Carolina, reportedly sent out the email to James Dolan last month. In the email, which he titled "I have been a Knicks fan since 1952," Bierman explains that he initially thought Dolan's management of his favorite team was "wonderful," but then sometime down the line, thing changed, and he accuses the 59-year-old CEO of Cablevisions Systems Corporation of interfering with the team.
"As a Knicks fan or in excess of 60 years," he wrote."I am utterly embarrassed by your dealings with the Knicks. Sell them so their fans can at least look forward to growing them in a positive direction Obviously, money IS NOT THE ONLY THING. You have done a lot of utterly STUPID business things with the franchise. Please NO MORE."
Dolan, who was recently accused of dozing off during a Knicks game, had a rather venomous response for Bierman.
"You are a sad person. Why would anybody write such a hateful letter," he wrote."I am. just guessing but ill bet your life is a mess and you are a hateful mess. What have you done that anyone would consider positive or nice. I am betting noting. In fact ill bet you are negative force in everyone who comes in contact with you. You most likely have made your family miserable. Alcoholic maybe. I just celebrated my 21 year anniversary of sobriety. You should try it. Maybe it will help you become a person that folks would like to have around. In the mean while start rooting. for the Nets because the Knicks dont want you."
Aaron Bierman, a film maker, recently shared these exchanges between his dad Irving Bierman and James Dolan with Deadspin and the news has since gone viral. Many fans have sided with the points Irving Bierman raised in his email and experts say it won't be surprising if Dolan is forced to vacate his post as head of the Knicks.
Meanwhile, there has been no official statement from the management of the team about the incident between Irving Bierman and James Dolan.
The Knicks will square off against Miami Heat later on Monday. While Miami Heat has also been struggling, experts say it is not expected to be an easy game for the Knicks. In their last 9 games, the Knicks have won 4 and lost 5.
