Tracy Morgan - Fans of NBC's Saturday Night Live would have noticed that funnyman Tracy Morgan was absent from the 40th anniversary of the late night comedy series this past weekend.
Tracy Morgan couldn't make it to the show because he is still recovering from the injuries he sustained from a car crash in June 2014 that claimed the life of his friend and fellow comedian James 'Jimmy Mack' McNair.
Reports indicate that an over speeding Wal-Mart trailer crashed into a limousine Morgan was riding in with McNair on the New Jersey Turnpike. According to CNN, 4 other cars were involved in the accident and at least 7 people sustained injuries.
Since the crash, Morgan has kept away from the limelight and has been steadily recovering. Last month, he was spotted in New York walking with a cane. At the moment, the extent of his injuries are unclear.
Morgan has filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart over the accident. But representatives of Wal-Mart blamed the comedian and his late friend for their injuries in the accident; noting that they must have not been wearing seatbelts during the crash.
Last month, Wal-Mart reached an undisclosed settlement agreement with the family of McNair. It is unclear when Morgan's case is scheduled for a hearing. The comedian's attorney has accused Wal-Mart of attempting to postpone the trial after the driver of the truck that hit Morgan's limousine applied to a judge to put the trial on hold.
35-year-old Kevin Roper is facing one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.
Ultimately, fans of 46-year-old Tracy Morgan may not have to wait for long to see the comedian in action. In January, Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock co-star Tina Fey revealed that Morgan has expressed interest in appearing on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
"Tracy has already told me that when he is well, he wants to be on the show," she told E! News. "And I said, 'You for it.'"
