Bride Marries Guest - A 25-year-old Indian man had to beg his former bride to take him back after he collapsed during their wedding in Rapur, Uttar Pradesh.
Jugal Kishore was reportedly about to exchange a garland with Indira in a traditional Indian 'varmala' ceremony when he had an epileptic fit and fell to the ground.
Indira, 23, was obviously more concerned about her marriage than the wellbeing of her groom as she angrily demanded to be married to a guest present at the ceremony, who turned out to be her brother-in-law.
Harpal Singh, the unlikely groom, who was reportedly donning a jeans and leather jacket, had to gather his thoughts for a second before he agreed to follow through with the marriage, according to the Times of India.
Indira's decision to marry Singh is said to be grounded on the fact that her family was kept in the dark about Kishore's epilepsy.
Sometime after Indira and Singh had been married off without any incident, Kishore, who was rushed to a nearby hospital by his relatives, had regained consciousness and returned to the venue of the wedding to find his bride in another man's arms.
Despite repeated pleading from Kishore and his family, Indira refused to accept him as her groom once again and end her marriage to Singh. Reports indicate that the situation even degenerated into violence - all to no avail.
Kishore's family had reportedly filed a complaint with the police in the heat of the conflict, but they later retracted it after local elders intervened.
Milak police chief Ram Khiladi Solanki captured the futility of the case when he told the BBC that "since the bride is already married now, what can anyone do?"
"So the families have resolved the matter and the complaint has been withdrawn," he revealed.
Kishore and his family have since returned to their home in Moradabad.
