Job candidates can now practice for their interview before it even occurs. A new app titled, Mock Job InterviewTM, allows you to practice interview questions that may be asked by employers via your iPhone or iPad.
The Denver-headquartered company, Tap to It, developed the app to enable users to "see yourself as others see you". The program has a "built-in video recording feature" that analyzes how each respondent answers their interviews questions through their "facial expression and tone of voice."
The queries are also randomly selected out of 150 possible questions that an employer would ask. After 10 questions are answered in the program, they are then moved to the "Saved Interviews" section, where videos are stored and can be played several times , sent through Facebook, or e-mail to gather comments from friends or family.
Janet Ferguson, Tap to It co-founder said that "Without seeing ourselves in action, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly which mistakes we make during a job interview or understand what makes us look silly, inexperienced, or unprepared. However, when we can see our flaws for ourselves and prepare in a setting that accurately replicates an actual job interview, we can master the art and science of a successful job interview. We believe Mock Job InterviewTM can help job seekers blow away the competition, which is crucial for landing those hard-to-come-by jobs."
The app was designed to meet the needs of today's demanding job market that requires not just an impressive resume but also professionalism in the work environment.
