SXSW 2015: Is AeroMobil’s Flying Car The Transportation Of The Future? Slovakian Company Announces Flying Car Availability In 2017 [VIDEO]

SXSW 2015 - Last October 2014 in Vienna, AeroMobil had uncovered its prototype flying car known as "AeroMobil 3.0" or "The Flying Roadster." The Slovakian company created a carbon fiber car/plane that drives the streets smoothly while its wings are tucked in. And when its wings are open, it takes off and soars high.

Speaking at the SXSW 2015, AeroMobil CEO and co-founder Juraj Vaculik gave details on the company's vision to what is going to happen to their prototype flying car. Vaculik told the panel about the forthcoming flying cars. For him and his group, their goal is to make hassle free fair-distance traveling. According to Popular Science, they aim to launch the car in the market by 2017.

At the South By Southwest 2015 in Austin, Texas, AeroMobil also showed the flying car prototype, which is more like the ones we see in "The Jetsons." It has a 99 mph speed when it's on the road and more or less around 124 mph when it's flying, ABC News reported. Vaculik stated that he is hoping to have the flying cars get into the hands of affluent supercar buyers and collectors when it is already launched in the market.

"We need another revolution, we need a revolution in personal transportation." Vaculik said when he spoke about AeroMobil's flying car, The Verge quoted.

He also mentioned that AeroMobil 3.0 is more than just a prototype flying car. While he envisioned to make the flying cars available in the market by 2017, he also accepted the fact that these new inventions might not be good enough for everyone.

Additionally, Vaculik cited three serious problems that the commuters are facing every day. These are the traffic, the airport and the bad infrastructure problems. And though self-driving cars are only partial solutions, Aeromobil's CEO told the SXSW 2015 panel that the real solution to the above-mentioned problems are flying cars.

Meanwhile, Aeromobil won't stop creating modern and technologically enhanced vehicles. In fact, the company revealed at the SXSW 2015 that it will also release a four-seater flying car, which will be a self-driving/self-flying car in one. The latest vehicular innovation is a flying car that has a full control of itself and will be the transportation of the future.

AeroMobil has definitely enthralled the SXSW 2015 panel with its newest creation. In the near future, the company might venture on passenger planes with the same idea. And as technology keeps on evolving, who knows, we might not need roads - just flying cars!
