According to People, the English-Irish actress has had a "rocky relationship" with her mom, which started right after Mischa's popularity soared high as a teen star on the Fox show, "The OC."

In order to protect her net worth, Mischa Barton filed a lawsuit against her mom, Nuala, who has managed her career for more than two decades, on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Daily Mail added the lawsuit also claims Mischa was kicked out by her own mother from their $8 million Beverly Hills home, which was purchased with her own earnings early in her career.
The lawsuit filed by Mischa Barton was confirmed by the actress' lawyer Alex Weingarten to Us Weekly through a statement on Tuesday.
"This action arises from the tragic tale of a greedy stage mother posing as a talent manager who, instead of acting in the best interest of her daughter/client, schemed to defraud her unsuspecting victim," Weingarten said in a statement. "From the outset, Nuala positioned herself to siphon her daughter's hard-earned money by purportedly acting as her talent manager - a role for which Nuala had absolutely no experience or training."
Meanwhile, Mischa Barton is currently seeking recovery from what her own mother stole that greatly affected her net worth of $3 million as listed by Celebrity Net Worth. E! News added the actress is also mending and hoping to proceed with her career free from her mom's meddling and to finally put a stop to the damages she continues to cause.
