Shmoop, a company that publishes digital test prep and academic curriculum, has launched its new "Shmoop Careers" section of their site. The purpose of this resource is to help guide young job seekers on various career paths that they may need assistance with and those they may not have ever even heard of. Additionally, Shmoop contributes career strategies to help students break into the industries they are most interested in.
Shmoop gives a layout of what students may be interested in learning in regards to the career they are looking for help in. The website provides information about various careers. The careers students can look into range from a stunt performer to an environmental scientist.
Each month, new careers will be included on the page and those already posted will be continuously updated.
The page provides an opportunity for viewers to suggest careers that they want information on that may not be on the list of careers provided. Shmoop reviews these requests and adds the career as well as the breakdown for it into its "career smorgasbord".
The company takes a friendly approach to job hunting and attempts to make the process of learning about a career a lot less threatening. The site is mostly catered to recent high school and college grads who still cannot wrap their hands around a field of interest or who would like to weigh their career options.
According to the site, Masters program professors and Ph.D. students from Standford, Harvard, UC Berkeley and other universities are contribute to the Shmoop website. Many of these writers have taught grade levels from high school to college.
