Is Nina Dobrev dating? Ever since her break-up with her "The Vampire Diaries" co-actor Ian Somerhalder, who is engaged to "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed, several fans have become curious about Dobrev's personal life.
Following the announcement of her departure from "The Vampire Diaries," Nina Dobrev is finally exploring and seeking a career outside of television. As many of her fans are excited to see what the 26-year-old actress does in her career, a new report claims that she is thinking about joining the 21st season of "Dancing With the Stars" alongside Derek Hough, whom Nina Dobrev had a dating history with.
In the past, Nina Dobrev reportedly has been dating Derek Hough. Although their relationship didn't worked out, Christian Post learned that the ex-couple have remained close, especially since Derek's sister Julianne is one of Nina's best friends.
After reportedly dating for six months in 2013, Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough are still amicable after their split. And now, the ex-couple appears to be reuniting on the "DWTS" dance floor. According to Hollywood Life, the Houghs, Julianne and Derek, are convincing Dobrev to be in the show for its fall premiere.
"Nina has been asked by both Julianne and Derek to join the show," an insider exclusively told Hollywood Life. "And if she does it next season Derek will be her partner. And Nina is really considering it. If she doesn't have a job by the fall she will do it."
Back in December 2013, Nina Dobrev flaunted her dancing skills when she joined the Hough family as she participated in their annual Instagram Christmas dance-off. And if ever she decides to participate in "DWTS," the "TVD" star will surely be in good hands as her 29-year-old ex-beau Derek, who has been with "Dancing With the Stars" since 2007, is a five-time Mirror Ball Trophy champ.
Meanwhile, even before Nina Dobrev started dating Derek Hough, she has been friends with Julianne. As the "Safe Haven" actress said, they met through their hairstylist.
"We've known the same person, Riawna Capri, who cuts and colors and does our hair," Julianne told E! News. "She's like, 'You guys have to meet.' We've just been like joined-connected at the hip."
In separate news, Nina Dobrev has some other plans for her career besides a stint on "DWTS."
"She knows that she might have to show some skin to get to the next level so if the part is right she will go topless in a heartbeat," a Hollywood Life source said. "She has already accepted the fact that it might be needed to go bare for her next move to get a real juicy role from another actress."
"To make a mark Nina wants to get into movies but she is also seeing the power that TV has with shows like True Detective," the source added. "And she wants to do something serious with a big cast to show that she can handle doing more than just The Vampire Diaries."
Prior to Nina Dobrev's announcement that she was leaving the show for good, the actress opened up about dating Ian Somerhalder.
"I have an enormous amount of respect and love for him," Nina Dobrev told E! News. "That doesn't change just because you're not together anymore. It doesn't change. It shouldn't, otherwise, why were you with them?"
