Arguably known as the "King of R&B," Singer R. Kelly has been treading in some deep water and he appears to have come to a dead end. Documents show that the Kelly owes almost $5 million in unpaid taxes.
Last year, the Grammy winner witnessed his suburban Chicago mansion fall into foreclosure. Now he is dealing with the Internal Revenue Service, due to skipping out on his tax bill for five years.
Records state that he owes $1.47 million for 2005, $710,000 for 2006, $380,000 for 2007, $1.12 million for 2008, $170,000 for 2009 and $990,000 for 2010.
Back in 2002, Kelly made headlines after being indicted in Chicago for soliciting a minor for child pornography. He was later acquitted on child pornography charges in 2008.
Regarding the taxes he owes, Kelly's rep told TMZ that "R. Kelly is in the process of working everything out with the government and is confident that all his obligations will be satisfied."
However, there was no explanation stating why the R&B star stopped paying his taxes.
