Woman Behind Controversial Military BreastFeeding Photo Fired From Job

The woman responsible for creating a controversial photo of military moms dressed in uniform while breastfeeding, was recently  fired from her civilian job. She worked as an X-ray technician and said those featured in the photo have also gotten in trouble.

Crystal Scott, spokeswoman for Mom2Mom, a support group for breastfeeding on military bases, told foxnews.com that her employer had no good explaination for firing her. Her employer said the reason for her termination was due to media coverage of the photo, making it controversial. Scott never intended on putting out an exploitive photo, she said it was created to encourage the military to be more accepting and supportive of nursing military moms. On Mom2Mom's facebook page, the group said the photos were not intended to be offensive.

The page read, "The military photographs were NEVER meant to exploit, promote or to use the military uniform  to help our group."

Scott told Right This Minute, "It's sad because the media has portrayed Mom2Mom in such a positive light. I was doing something for the good of people. I feel like our organization is making positive changes for women all over the world. To be punished for something that was good was unfortunate."

Recent reports reveal that the military mothers featured in the photo have gotten into trouble with the military. The military rules that no military uniform may be used  for promotional purposes of any kind and that the two women have went against this ruling.

Prior to the controversy, the group's hope was that the photo could be released for National Breastfeeding Awareness week in August.

Scott has been active in the military and currently lives with her husband, who is on active duty, on the Fairchild Air Force Base.
