Paris Hilton DEFIES Cannes’ ‘No Selfie’ Rule! Several Celebs Also Guilty Of Doing The Prohibited Act?

Paris Hilton Cannes Selfie - Taking of one's selfie has been recently the norm whenever celebrities paraded various red carpet events. However, in the recent Cannes Film Festival, the contagious act has been banned.

Due to the unstoppable selfie craze, Cannes Film Festival director Thierry Fremaux announced that the act has been prohibited in this year's event. According to Independent, the festival director described snapping of one's selfies as "ridiculous and grotesque." However, socialite Paris Hilton apparently broke Cannes' "No Selfie" ban.

During the premiere of the movie, "Inside Out," the 31-year-old hotel heiress-turned-DJ was sparkling in her glittery and sheer Yousef Al-Jasmi backless gown. However, Paris Hilton did one obvious mistake by breaking Cannes' "No Selfie" rule. Huffington Post reported that the "Stars Are Blind" and actor Sun Yu Yang were photographed posing for a selfie on the red carpet and right in front of the world's media.

Despite Fremaux's polite notice, Paris Hilton and other celebrities including Eva Longoria, Aishwarya Rai, Woody Allen, Tom Hardy and Salma Hayek evidently broke Cannes' "No Selfie" rule. While Hayek apologized for breaking the rule after appearing in selfies with red-carpeted backgrounds, the other celebs ignored what festival president Pierre Lescure told reporters, which backed up Fremaux's decree.

"The red carpet goes around the world and we see people looking very good, and honestly you're never as ugly as on a selfie," Cannes Film Festival president said.

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton has taken a lower profile in recent years. And though it's been a long time since she was featured on a reality show, Inquisitr learned that the former reality TV star has no plans in returning to television anytime soon.

In her Nylon magazine interview, Paris Hilton revealed the reason why she can't do reality television again.

"I get calls every single day from producers and networks begging me to come back to TV, but I'm so busy that I wouldn't have time," she explained. "I'm focusing on my brand and my business. I don't have time to do a show."

Hilton also added that she feels good about getting paid for real work now.

"It feels amazing, I feel so proud," she continued. "When I was a little girl I knew I wanted to do big things, but I never thought that I would have my own fragrance empire."

As for violating Cannes' "No Selfie" rule, do you think Paris Hilton and the other celebrities are in trouble after they evidently took selfies during the festival?
