Lakers center Pau Gasol might be in for a career move from the Los Angeles Lakers to another team. Predictions are that he may be heading back to Memphis, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
After the Lakers traded Lamar Odom, the team proved that no one's position, no matter how good they might be, is truly safe.
It is rumored that the Los Angeles Lakers are thinking about trading Gasol for players who may not even be of the same caliber as him, but they are said to be open to giving new talent a try. Many believe that there is a good possibility that Gasol will be traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, alongside his brother Marc.
According to Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News, Michael Heisley, the current owner of the Grizzlies, was considering selling the team to technology executive, Robert J. Pera, for $350 million. However, around the time that the agreement was supposed to be finalized, Pera's company took a drastic fall in the stock market.
If the trade to the Grizzlies does occur, there is no sure answer as to who Gasol will replace, however many are in favor of him playing alongside his brother.
Gasol is owed $40 million within the next two years, upon ending his Lakers contract.
Although it is whispered that the Chicago Bulls might have their eye on Gasol, one can only sit and wait for what will come of the possible trade.
