Iggy Azalea Blames Media For Pitting Her Against Britney Spears, Insists They Are Friends

Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears are names synonymous to chart topping hits! But what happened when they collaborated in "Pretty Girls?"

Yes indeed, the song landed on Billboard Hot 100 charts, barely cracking Top 30. This is considered a disgrace from hitmakers like these two, who have made it to the top 10 numerous times.

Daily Mail reported that after the duet was adjudged as a misfire, a spat arose across social media and it seemed both artists had "bad blood" between them.

But, Azalea, 25, responded and tweeted, Tuesday, insisting she and Britney are "still friends."

According to SeattlePi, the Australian rap artist blasted the media for insinuating that she blamed Britney Spears for the "flop" of their pop collaboration.

The "Fancy" hitmaker went on, citing the media for distorting Britney's words and hers, creating an imaginary feud between both artists.

She told EOnline, "It's difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances etc. unfortunately I'm just featured.... I would have enjoyed performing it a lot, I think it got off to a powerful start, but you need content to compete in 2015."

She later added, "my comment is factual, it applies to any song. I dont have to suck the womans a- 24/7 to be her friend, do i? bye girls."

Some Britney fans however, considered the remark as an attack prompting Azalea to settle the issue by posting on Twitter, and reiterated that she did not bad mouth Spears.

Meanwhile, Spears, 33, weighed in on the incident and posted what some considered a sly swipe at the rapper and posted, "Can't wait to get back to Vegas. So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to... #YouWantAPieceOfMe."

Azalea canceled her grand U.S. Great Escape Tour earlier saying her heart is in a different change of creativity.
