Good news to all boxing enthusiasts! The much-awaited seventh installment of the "Rocky" film series is finally here. In the new trailer released by Warner Bros. Pictures Tuesday, veteran actor Sylvester Stallone reprises his role as boxing legend Rocky Balboa while "Fantastic Four" star Michael B. Jordan showcases his flawless boxing moves as he plays the son of Apollo Creed, New York Daily News revealed.
Almost four decades after the first movie premiered in the big screen, a new spinoff titled, "Creed," will take fans down memory lane in a nostalgic tribute to all the "Rocky" movies. Combined with more modern twists, this action-packed film will explore a new chapter in the "Rocky" saga.
Even though fans miss Rocky's jaw-dropping fights, he won't be seen fighting inside the ring this time. Instead, Balboa (Stallone) will be mentoring Apollo Creed's son, Adonis (Jordan).
"Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born," the official synopsis reads, as written on the movie's official Website. "Still, there's no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed's legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa."
Aside from the interesting narrative of the "Rocky" spinoff, "Creed" also features an inspirational quote from the film's most recent installment, "Rocky Balboa," in 2006, People noted.
"A great fighter once said, 'It ain't about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward,'" Jordan's character quoted Balboa's speech.
"Creed" is directed by the award-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler, and will hit the theaters on Nov. 25, NZ Herald reported.
