Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced Tuesday that the couple is getting a divorce after 10 years of marriage. The couple has three kids - Violet, Seraphina and Samuel.
The couple did not say what the real reason for the divorce was and as of now, we will just sit and watch for what happens next.
Detroit Free Press reported that the couple has actually been planning to divorce three years ago, but then Samuel was born and it temporarily solved the issues in their marriage.
According to TMZ, sources presented two views as to why the marriage has to end. Sources close to Jen said that she felt neglected as Ben was never a "present husband", although issues of Ben's drinking and gambling problems had been circulating for quite a while now. Sources close to Jen said that Ben's gambling and drinking came to point where Jen can no longer tolerate it.
However, the same source quickly defended that Ben is a great father and Jen has no issues with his parenting skills.
There's some truth to what the sources are saying because Ben had been really busy lately with back-to-back film projects.
Sources close to Ben said that he tried his best to keep their marriage and that he felt that he's doing his best — balancing his career and his family.
The divorce was amicable and a mutual decision and they are doing their best, so that they can co-parent their three lovely kids. Both parties want to settle the divorce as quickly as possible.
Of course, in light of the news, one can't help but wonder where Jennifer Lopez is. Both lead separate lives after they broke up 12 years ago. After the news of the divorce hit the web, E! Online reported that Jennifer Lopez was seen with her on-and-off beau Casper Smart at Madison Square Park.
