We are all in shock after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced that they are getting a divorce after 10 years of marriage; however, the former couple showed that they are really committed to their children.
In an effort to protect their children from the headline of the divorce, the former couple decided to take a vacation in the Bahamas.
According to E! Online, it is probably what Ben and Jen had planned all along — announce the divorce then fly to the Bahamas.
PerezHilton.com reported that the divorce is actually inevitable after rumors that the 42-year-old actor/director has been living in a hotel for the past ten months or so.
Jennifer Lopez keeps coming up when the divorce was announced, and this may be due to the high profile relationship. Although Ben and J. Lo were a hot item back in the day, sources revealed that the two are not reuniting. Each led separate lives after the messy breakup years ago.
Examiner reported that many fans were sad and disappointed by the news. They've seen Ben change for the better when he started dating Jen. It is believed that constant traveling and busy schedules put a strain on the marriage.
The former couple are planning to co-parent their three children Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. Ben Affleck will still live on their estate in Brentwood but in a separate house.
Ben and Jen released the following statement: "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."
The divorce is reportedly an amicable one because they are using a mediator and doesn't want to go to court. Ben and Jen are staying quiet for the moment and are focused on being a good parent to their 3 lovely kids.
