Marvel Cinematic Universe fans all over the world might be drooling right now after an allegedly leaked trailer for the upcoming movie "Captain America 3: Civil War" has been released and has widely circulated online. While it certainly escalated the excitement, one major glitch is that the teaser is more likely a hoax or a fake.
The allegedly fake "Captain America 3: Civil War" trailer was secretly filmed by a smartphone in the audience of a Comic Con panel, International Business Times revealed. It also showed the first set of photos of Steve Rogers' Cap, in preparation for an all-out war showdown against his former Avenger ally in the battle over Superhero Registration.
Originally posted on the blog TheRealStanLee.com, the "Captain America 3: Civil War" trailer was allegedly taken from a Comic Con in India. However, Movie Pilot noted that it seems too early for Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who's in the clip, to release a real teaser since the filming is currently ongoing.
While it's possible to make and release a trailer for a movie that's still in the works, the leaked "Captain America 3: Civil War" teaser would be too early for Comic Con, particularly in Marvel's standards. Therefore, the trailer is more likely to be fake, or it's simply fan-made.
Furthermore, "Captain America 3: Civil War" is still one year away so it wouldn't make much more sense if the studio will be releasing a trailer for it. But with the third installment of the "Captain America" franchise promises more superheroes than any normal "Avengers" flick, Marvel Studios will undoubtedly have to round up a teaser very soon just to please the fans once the hype from "Ant-Man" subsides. What is more confounding, however, in the alleged teaser is Frank Grillo as Crossbones in action.
Meanwhile, there has been an unending speculation that Spider-man will be joining the cast of "Captain America 3: Civil War," Franchise Herald reported. And though Marvel has yet to officially announce the new development, Screen Rant confirmed that actor Tom Holland a.k.a Spider-man will be introduced in Marvel Cinematic Universe through the upcoming "Captain America" sequel.
Also joining the cast of "Captain America 3: Civil War" will be "Ant-Man" lead actor Paul Rudd. As per ET Online, "Ant-Man" director Peyton Reed opened up about how he felt when his lead character crossed over the "Captain America" set.
"When Paul went to shoot for a couple days on Civil War, I felt really envious," Reed said. "I felt like my girlfriend had left me and gone off with the other guy."
For now, watch the allegedly fake "Captain America 3: Civil War" trailer below. And catch "Ant-Man" as it hits theaters on July 17 while the third installment of "Captain America" is set for release on May 6, 2016.
