Elodie Yung will be the new Elektra — a role made famous by Jennifer Garner — in the season 2 of Netflix's "Daredevil," Movie Pilot reported. The announcement was made by Marvel on Tuesday.
In a statement, "Daredevil" executive producer and head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb said they did a worldwide search and found that Yung was the perfect actress to personify Elektra's deadly physical and psychological perplexity, Daily Mail has learned.
Elektra is described as a mysteriously dangerous woman from Matt Murdock's past. The lead role is being played by Charlie Cox.
The 34-year-old French actress is known to have starred in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" as Jinx, along with Dwayne Jonhson, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park and Channing Tatum.

Other than playing Elektra in the Netflix series "Daredevil," she will also play the role of the goddess Hathor in the upcoming film "Gods of Egypt."

Before Yung hit the silver screen, she was a television personality. In 2002 – 2003, Yung played the role of Jade Perrin in "La vie devant nous"
Following the success of her first movie, she returned to television series playing the role of Fanny Ledoin in "Mademoiselle Joubert" (2005 – 2007) and Laura Maurier in "Les bleus: premiers pas dans la police" (2006 – 2010).
Elektra's character will be introduced along with Frank Castle, which will be played by Jon Bernthal of "The Walking Dead," according to E! News.
The second season of Marvel's "Daredevil" will premiere on Netflix in 2016.
