Is 'Breaking Bad' Star Aaron Paul Playing Han Solo In Upcoming 'Star Wars' Spin-Off?

Rumors have been circulating that "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul is going to be cast as Han Solo in the upcoming "Star Wars" stand-alone film. Nothing has been confirmed as of late, but the actor gave fans a hint by posting an Instagram screenshot of the official "Star Wars" handle.

Aaron Paul made his mark as an actor when he brilliantly played the role of Jesse Pinkman on the hit series "Breaking Bad."

According to The Guardian, the "Star Wars" spin-off will focus more on the origins of Han Solo. The upcoming movie will feature a Han Solo in his late twenties. Harrison Ford, the actor that played Han Solo in the first three "Star Wars" movies was 33 at the time he was cast for the role.

Actors that are being considered for the role are either in their twenties or thirties. Aaron Paul is 35 years old.

The upcoming movie would possibly explain how the human smuggler met his Wookie first mate. In the "Star Wars" Universe, Chewbacca has been around for more than two hundred years. Books have hinted that Han was an imperial pilot of a prison ship, where Chewbacca was staying as a prisoner. They both escaped after Han refused to whip the Wookie. Grateful for his rescue, Chewbacca declared a life debt to Han Solo. However, the movie makers may or may not use this version in their "Star Wars" film.

RTE reported that the film is to be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. In a statement, the directing duo said that they "promise to take risks and to give the audience a fresh experience." They added, "This is a dream come true for us."

While waiting for the official announcement, "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul decided to relax a bit and participate in the 2015 World Series of Poker, CardPlayer.com reported.
