"Trainwreck" star Amy Schumer was on fire after her acceptance speech at the Glamour Awards. And the fire continues to burn for the actress as her new movie, "Trainwreck," is set to hit theaters soon.
While accepting her Trailblazer award at the 2015 Glamour U.K. Women of the Year event, Schumer showed off another comedic feat when she said, "I'm 160 lbs and I can catch a d**k whenever I want," ET Online has learned.
Schumer's rather notorious statement comes amid the never-ending issue of sexism in Hollywood. The 34-year-old stand up comedian even told FoxNews that women are, more often than not, taught to diet "until they disappear." She also dished on the double standard that the society has set for women who are unconventionally "sexy." She said that women who do not fit the mold set by the society are deemed "unlovable."
In light of issues that may surface due to her controversial statement, Schumer maintained that she is proud and unapologetic of what she said. The funny lady added that she's pleased that women of all sizes are being represented since they all "deserve love" and they have equal chances of catching "the old D."
However Schumer admitted that her jokes may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially when she jests about races. "I'm evolving as an artist. I am taking responsibility and hope I haven't hurt anyone. I apologize if I did," she said.
With Amy Schumer's new movie "Trainwreck" coming to theaters soon, more and more eyes are going to be on her and the things that she does.
"Trainwreck" is co-written by Schumer, and it tells a story of the life of a writer who always gets what she wants in bed but has no interest in long-term commitment. The movie presents a different perspective on relationships.
Amy Schumer is gracing the cover of Glamour's August issue and during her interview with the magazine, she was asked how she plans to use her new-found fame and influence.
Schumer said that she wants to continue making women laugh and make them feel confident and beautiful. The actress believes that she can help empower women, and she also wants a jet.
