Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol, has been recently in the center of media's frenzied attention. The 24-year-old unwed mom is back under the limelight as she made hypocritical criticisms to some of the major issues of the society today.
Bristol Palin has been treated by the Internet and the liberal media with an unwarranted frenzy of enthusiasm. But why can't the media leave Sarah Palin's daughter alone?
Here are 3 controversies involving Sarah Palin's daughter that the media are always hyping about.
1. Bristol Palin's Alleged Hypocrisy
As a politician's daughter, Bristol Plain has spent her life doing and saying what she thought other people wanted her to do or say. But whenever she speaks her mind, it's allegedly full of hypocrisy, Huffington Post noted. Earlier this summer, her criticism of the liberal media coverage of Josh Duggar's acts of molestation made news. She also ignorantly pointed Lena Dunham as a comparable child molester the liberal media had mostly left alone.
In addition, Bristol's hypocritical criticism over Miler Cyrus' Paper magazine interview had also caught media attention. In her blog post, she criticized Cyrus for telling the publication that she maintains a particular contempt for fundamentalist lawmakers who rally against the potentially life-saving changes she and her organization make.
2. Sarah Palin's Daughter, Bristol, is a Soon-to-be Unwed Mom-of-two
Last week, Internet commentators had a field day after she proudly announced her pregnancy, while unmarried, for the second time in her blog post. But unlike her first pregnancy that drew national attention when she was 18, Bristol's second pregnancy was planned and she didn't regret her baby on the way, according to E! News.
But what made it so controversial is the fact that she has pledged to remain celibate until marriage, frequently writes about her opposition to reproductive rights and has been an abstinence-only advocate.
3. Bristol Palin is Reportedly Judgmental
In an incident in 2011, Sarah Palin's daughter was cruelly and personally ridiculed after she said inexcusable racist and homophobic things. Based on a Hollywood Life report, Bristol had a homophobic freak out incident at Saddle Ranch in West Hollywood where she filmed her reality show. It happened when a customer started heckling her while she was riding the mechanical bull. Then Bristol freaked out at him and called him a "homosexual."
So, why can't the media just leave her alone?
Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol, has been hypocritical. She's been judgmental and mean. Many haters think that she should take a hard look at her life and stop minding everyone else's business. But many are still enthralled by her as being a product of a fundamentalist Christian family in a patriarchal society, whose thoughts present an irony in the ideas and values molded by the society.
In other news, Sarah Palin's subscriber-based online channel, where she could directly connect to viewers without a media filter, is shutting down, FOX News revealed. Starting Aug. 1, The Week stated there will be no longer a $9.95 fee per month for the musings of the former Alaska governor and vice presidential nominee. The channel made its announcement on July 4, Variety reported.
