The trailer for the new movie "Goosebumps" is finally here. Fans of the "Goosebumps" series should be ready for a different kind of fun — scary fun. Comedian Jack Black plays the role of R.L. Stine, the best-selling author behind the successful series.
The plot of the film was revealed in the trailer that innocently starts with Zach Cooper, played by Dylan Minnete, trying to be happy for his mother's new job in a small and remote town. Then he meets their pretty neighbor, Hannah, played by Odeya Rush, and her dad, R.L. Stine, who seems to appear arrogant at first. The unexpected happens when Zach accidentally opens a book that unleashed all the monsters from Stine's series. It is now up to them to stop the monsters from spreading havoc and bring every single one of them back to the book again.
The trailer shows characters like the Abominable Snowman of Pasadena, Pumpkin Head, The Invisible Boy, Slappy the Dummy, Murder the Clown and the not-so-friendly lawn gnomes. Avid fans of the book series are up for a treat when all of their favorite scary characters come to life in the big screen.
In an interview with ComingSoon.net, the real R.L. Stine described the film as a "combination of fun and scary" and that he's "happy about that." The popular author also added that it has always been his goal to entertain readers, especially children, saying that he wants kids to say "God, I can pick up a book and it's just entertaining, it's not teaching me anything!"
IBN Live has learned that "Goosebumps" is directed by Rob Letterman. He is known for directing films such as "Shark Tale" and "Gulliver's Travels."
"Goosebumps" is set for release on Oct. 16 in the U.S. It is going to be released internationally on Dec. 26.
