In a four-minute black and white video uploaded on YouTube, Ariana Grande apologized to her fans and the entire state Thursday for the doughnut fiasco.
Grande was caught saying she hates Americans, and she hates America, after the shop employee brought out a tray of doughnuts. The early apology she did on Twitter missed the mark, thus, this follow-up, NBC reported.
The "Break Free" singer was just reacting to the massive donuts placed in front of her, TMZ was told. She said the comments were inappropriate, but it was out of frustration with unhealthy eating in the United States.
Big Sean's ex-girlfriend realized that obesity is a serious issue, one source said. She admitted she was embrrassed, it was a mistake, and she's going to learn from it.
In the video, Grande said she's a proud American. She added that there were no excuses for her actions, and she's taking full responsibility of her actions.
Amidst these apologies concerning the doughnut fiasco, the former Nickelodeon star failed to one thing — extend that expression of regret to the actual shop.
Other than the inappropriate comments on the video footage, the "Problem" singer was also seen licking the sugar-coated doughnuts. The shop owner will reportedly press cross-contamination charges against the "Scream Queens" actress.
The manager told the inspector that the employee on duty didn't know that Grande licked the products. They were placed back on the display tray to be sold.
This was the reason why the donut shop didn't pass the inspection test and given a B rating. The health department gave them a week to sort this issue out, Daily Mail has learned.
The authorities are now investigating. Reports say that it can be considered as a potential crime because food-borne illnesses are transferred through "licking."
The doughnut fiasco happened at Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, California. Grande was with her rumored new boyfriend and backup dancer Ricky Alvarez at the time.
