San Antonio Spurs player, Tony Parker, may be forced to miss the 2012 London Olympics due to almost losing his eye in a fight between singer Chris Brown and rapper Drake.
Parker's cornea was injuring during the fight, and according to the San Antonio Spurs guard, Parker was forced to have surgery to remove a piece of an object that had "penetrated 99 percent" of his left eye.
"I almost lost my eye," Parker said in an interview posted on his website. "I'm seeing a specialist in New York with the hope of being given the all clear to play in the Olympic Games."
Although Parker is hoping that he will not be left out of the Games this year, he says he is not the one who has the last say in the decision.
"Anything can happen, including me being out of the Olympics. The decision doesn't belong to me anymore. It's in the hands of the doctor and San Antonio."
Parker reports that he has not been able to leave his hotel room for over a week because of possible infection that could occur. He also puts five different medications into his eye every two hours.
"I didn't have luck, but I came out well from my misfortune. It could have been worse," said Parker. "The rest of my career is not in question. I just have to wait for the injury to heal itself."
Parker was one of eight injured during the fight inside the W.i.P club in SoHo on June 15. Amongst the hurt were Chris Brown, his girlfriend, and his bodyguard. According to police, Drake's entourage confronted Brown as he was leaving the club, which resulted in a fist fight and thrown bottles.
Parker plans to sue the New York City venue for $20 million.
