Jada Pinkett Smith Wants A Piece Of The 'Suicide Squad' Action

Will Smith's better half Jada Pinkett Smith said that she would be thrilled to play the comic book heroine Vixen for "Suicide Squad" in the event that the film gets a sequel. While touring to promote her latest film, "Magic Mike XXL", she expressed her wish to speak with "Suicide Squad" director David Ayer about playing Vixen.

Pinkett Smith said that Vixen is her favorite character in the DC Universe. She added that most have probably never heard about her. She told MTV UK as cited by IB Times that she would like to have a word with Ayer regarding Vixen. Unsurprisingly, her hubby Will Smith plays Deadshot in the film.

For comic book fans, Vixen is no stranger. Her alter ego, Mari Jiwe McCabe, was born in a fictional African village of Zambesi. She moved to New York and worked as a model. She uses the power of the Tantu Totem, allowing her to mimic the ability of any animal that has ever walked the earth. She has healing powers. A member of the Justice League, she became part of the Suicide Squad after seeking vengeance for her colleagues who were killed by drug smugglers during a photo shoot.

Pinkett Smith had her share of playing a comic book character, having appeared in the first season of Fox's "Gotham" as the antihero Fish Mooney.

It is pretty clear where Jada Pinkett Smith wants to put herself in the DC Universe, said Cinema Blend. Fans would probably be talking right now if she would be a good choice for the part.

"Suicide Squad" is a film about a group of supervillains assembled by Amanda Waller. The team is given a cut on their jail sentences if they agreed to doing secret classified missions for the government. As of late, the Internet is abuzz with fake teasers, as brought about by the whole excitement from the comic books fandom. Screen Crush singled out the teaser trailer below as an example fan-made clips while the movie is not yet out.

"Suicide Squad" is expected to hit theaters on August 2016.
