According to Prahar Shah, Door Dash's head of business development, "Taco Bell is a natural complement to our technology and vision."
"This partnership marks an important milestone for DoorDash," added Tony Xu, CEO of Door Dash.
As the delivery operation starts, the company's operating profit soared by 37 percent.
When a customer orders a meal, Door Dash then forwards the order to the Taco Bell chain closest to its location, picks up the order and delivers it to the happy client, as per Sentinel Republic.
Taco Bell officials conducted early testing in Northern California and Orange county; the result: delivery clocked at around 38 minutes.
iFreePress noted that Sara Monnette, Technomic analyst, who studies consumer trends, stated that Taco Bell is wise to have adopted early on fast food delivery service since most of its loyal clients are technology savvy.
For a certain fee, Door Dash not only delivers food from different local restaurants, but also outlets like The Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen.
