Notorious drug cartel boss Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman is currently making headlines after he escaped from a maximum-security prison tunnel once again. Now, an extensive manhunt is underway to capture one of the world's most powerful and deadly drug trafficking operations kingpin.
On Monday, the whole world was stunned after reports emerged that Mexico's most notorious drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman had escaped from Altiplano jail, located west of Mexico City. According to CNN, the Sinaloa cartel boss is currently on the run after he crawled through a hole and disappeared through a mile-long tunnel, which was allegedly built just for him.
El Chapo's escape is dubbed as the "jailbreak of the millennium." But the world's biggest mafia boss has a $3.8 million (60 million pesos) bounty on his head. The said reward was offered by Mexico's government and will be given to whoever has information that will lead to his recapture.
After El Chapo's escape on Saturday, the Mexican drug cartel billionaire has bragged on Twitter about his escape from a top-security jail by mocking authorities and threatening U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump, Daily Mail reported.
Guzman's threats came after property tycoon Trump said that the notorious fugitive personifies "everything that is wrong with Mexico" and that he would "kick his ass." Guzman also posted death threats to those who have betrayed him. He then hinted a conspiracy with the authorities for his jailbreak.
As the notorious drug lord's escape continues headlining the news, here are 5 things to know about Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.
1. Guzman was recently listed as the 14th richest man in the world by Forbes magazine. He is the infamous leader of the world's mightiest criminal syndicate, Sinaloa cartel. However, Guzman is the last of the old-style mafia dons, The Guardian revealed.
2. No one knows about his true birthdate. As per Thought Catalog, he was born on Dec. 25, 1954 or Apr. 4, 1957. The site added he had at least 4 wives, one of them is beauty queen Emma Coronel Aispuro. Mexico's biggest drug trafficker also has 10 children and most of them followed their father's footsteps and entered the drug trade.
3. Guzman has been known to be the "Osama bin Laden of drug trafficking." International Business Times noted that El Chapo is also famous for his meticulous and brutal style of business. In the past, he has stayed out of jail by bribing police officials and anyone that could give him up to the feds.
4. Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman owned at least 16 houses, 4 ranches and 43 vehicles at the time of his capture, 19 of which were armored. As stated by Forbes, El Chapo also possessed 97 long arms, 36 handguns, two grenade launchers and one rocket launchers, which were seized by the authorities when he was captured.

5. Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman shared a unique dishonor with 1930s gangster Al Capone. As per Chron, he was named as Chicago's "Public Enemy Number 1" after his drug cartel contributed to a great deal of the gang violence in the city.
