‘Arrow’ Season 4 To Resurrect ‘Constantine’ Amid Cancellation? [SPOILERS]

Despite NBC's cancellation of "Constantine," the show might still be resurrected through a DC crossover with "Arrow" Season 4.

During the Comic-Con San Diego last week, co-showrunner Wendy Mericle confirmed the possibility that John Constantine (Matt Ryan) might join "Arrow" Season 4. However, she also cited that some factors might thwart the crossover to materialize, Screen Crush noted.

"Yeah, we really want to do it," Mericle told IGN. "It's something we've been talking to DC about and it's just a question of some political things, but also the actor's schedule. We're trying to work it out, but we don't know 100 percent if it's going to happen... But we're really optimistic and we would love to have him."

"Arrow" star Stephen Amell, who had been offered to have a guest appearance on "Constantine" in hopes of urging a second season, also echoed the possibility for the team up adding that he's keeping his "fingers crossed," Den of Geek reported.

Amell also hinted that an "Arrow" Season 4 crossover would probably feature the demon-hunter detective brought in to consult on the Lazarus Pit, which was the major plotline in Season 3, and influence the development of the "Legends of Tomorrow" spinoff.

Meanwhile, "Arrow" Season 4 is expected to imaginatively spruce up the series after its Season 3 conclusion where Oliver (Amell) was retiring the vigilante lifestyle, as hinted by his new costume.

Furthermore, "Arrow" Season 4 will also introduce Mister Terrific and Batman villain Anarky, aside from concentrating on DC antiheroes H.I.V.E. and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough). The series may also feature flashbacks within Green Lantern's hometown of Coast City.

In addition to Mericle's promotion as the co-showrunner alongside Marc Guggenheim, it was also reported that "Punisher: War Zone" director Lexi Alexander will direct an episode.

In spite of the fact that "Arrow" Season 4 might resurrect "Constantine," it may not be quite enough for the fans after losing the series completely. But if the plans will push through, the crossover will definitely bring so much thrill and excitement for the show and its viewers.

Don't forget to watch "Arrow" Season 4 when it premieres on The CW this fall.
