Spending money on gas isn't always pleasant, but when news of a gas price drop is announced, it definitely gets many people's attention. Just last month, the cost of gas in Connecticut dropped 25 cents in only one month; now, Massachusetts gas prices have dropped by another penny per gallon.
This drop in the state of Massachusetts marks the 11th consecutive week of lower prices. AAA Southers New England reported today [Monday] that self-serve, regular is selling for $3.36 per gallon.
Prices are currently 53 cents less than the peak gas prices seen on April 16.
The current price is four cents above than the national average for the same grade and 29 cents below the price at the same time last year, according to Business Week.
AAA found self-serve, regular selling for as low as $3.21 per gallon and for as much $3.65.
