Brittney Griner files annulment case against Glory Johnson to end their 28-day marriage after finding out that her wife was cheating on her with her [Johnson's] former beau.
Griner's court document stated that Johnson was unfaithful during their courtship, and that she intentionally kept her sexual relations with a man, USA Today reported. She claimed that she had no idea of Johnson being emotionally and sexually involved with a man.
"Glory is straight," Griner said. "That was another reason why I thought this could end really bad."
Griner also claimed that Johnson pressured her into marriage, and had she known of Johnson's affection with what the lawyers identified as his "former male companion," she would have not proposed, let alone marry her.
Griner's court filings also stated that she wanted to postpone having children, according to People. However, she went ahead and signed the documents, under duress, because of Johnsin's ultimata, demands and threats.
The fertility treatments proceeded on April 29, using Johnson's egg and a sperm from a donor. Apparently, the procedure was successful, with Johnson now pregnant with twins.
Contrary to Griner's claim, Johnson said she was not pressured, Daily Mail learned. Johnson said Griner was a willing participant, and she has consented and signed all the necessary documents to proceed with the treatment.
In a motion filed on June 29, Johnson requested Griner to pay $20,000 per month for spousal support and $10,000 for attorney's fees.
Grinner, who plays for Phoenix Mercury, and Johnson, who plays for Tulsa Shock, got engaged in August and tied the knot in May.
A month before the wedding though, both WNBA stars were arrested after having a fight in their home in Arizona, which resulted in suspension from their respective teams due to domestic violence.
A hearing is slated to happen on Aug. 17 in Phoenix for Griner's marriage petition and Johnson's counter-petition.
