Gal Gadot has always known that taking the role of a superhero, Wonder Woman, would entail hardwork and perseverance. Not only to give justice to the well-loved Amazon princess' character, but to also absorb all the criticism that will come her way.
That seemed to be the case when Grant Morrison criticized director Zack Snyder's interpretation of Wonder Woman. Morrison, a comic book writer, said that "Batman v Superman" betrayed Wonder Woman's roots.
Morrison disclosed: "I can understand why they're doing it, I get all that, but that's not what William Marston wanted, that's not what he wanted at all!"
"You see the latest shots of Gal Gadot in the costume, and it's all sword and shield and her snarling at the camera. Marston's Diana was a doctor, a healer, a scientist."
So how does Gal Gadot react to this? The 30-year-old Israeli actress revealed to Sky News that she can't "please them all."
Gal Gadot said that her portrayal of Wonder Woman being popular to everyone was an impossible feat.
"No matter what you do, you can never please them all," she said.
"People will always have something to say because that's the way people are. And it's okay. But for me, it's my job. It's my career. It's my art."
However, Gal Gadot hoped that what she did with Wonder Woman's character would serve as an inspiration; she also acknowledged that in order to achieve the portrayal she wanted, she put in a lot of effort to her craft.
As what she revealed to Interview magazine, "Whatever I do, I take it very seriously and I do my research and I give it my best. I just want to be able to shine and inspire people."
"And it's not just about me. It's the script and the story and the acting. I hope people are going to love it," Gadot added.
Meanwhile, according to Inquisitr, Gal Gadot stated in her interview that she felt very honored to be given the role of Wonder Woman.
She said, "I feel like I've been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for."
As Gal Gadot's preparations for taking on the role of Wonder Woman, the former Miss Israel detailed, "I work out a lot now with Wonder Woman. I can't say too much about my training regime but we do work out a lot - we do a lot of different martial arts. But in my ordinary life when I don't work, I like to paddle board and do TRX."
In related news, as per People, Gal Gadot got close to shed a tear during her Interview magazine conversation, when Paul Walker, her co-star in "The Fast and the Furious" franchise was brought up.
The sexy actress exclaimed, "It's so sad, and when I talk about it, I still get tears in my eyes, because he was a great man. I still miss him and will miss him forever."
Fans of Gal Gadot will have to wait for 2016 when "Batman v Superman" hits theaters to see what that workout regimen translated into.
