DC fans, spoiler alert! Warner Bros., updates its casting line-up for a spin-off movie of Gal Gadot, "Wonder Woman," by signing Chris Pine, who will reportedly play the role of Steve Trevor.
Pine has reportedly closed a multi-picture deal for DC Movie Universe with Warner Bros. This means that the 34-year-old actor will not just appear in one film, but also in sequel options, The Wrap exclusively learned.
The insider added that Pine's role in "Wonder Woman" isn't only going to be the love interest of Gadot's character, Diana Prince. Details of the movie plot have yet to be revealed, but the "Star Trek" actor is said to be part of action-packed fight scenes.
For those who are not familiar with Steve Trevor, he is a United States Air Force Pilot who accidentally discovered the Paradise Island, Princess Diana's home, after his plane crashed while on a mission.
Before landing the role, Pine was rumored to play Hal Jordan in the "Green Lantern Corps," according to IGN. The spin-off movie has been allegedly just a smokescreen.
Nevertheless, Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman" needs to wait a bit more because Pine is still filming "Star Trek Beyond," where he will be playing Captain James Kirk for the third time.
Meanwhile, here's another spoiler from Zack Snyder. The director of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," said that Gadot's appearance as Wonder Woman in his upcoming 2016 film and her spin-off movie will be the "gateway drug" in the DC Chain.
"She plays a super-important part," Snyder revealed to Entertainment Weekly. "In a lot of ways, she's the gateway drug to the rest of the Justice League."
Patty Jenkins will helm the new "Wonder Woman" movie. It is scheduled to be release on June 23, 2017.
More spoilers and movie cast updates will come in a few days. Don't fret, we will keep you posted.
